In Spring 2025, I contributed to the production of the 20th issue of The Beat, SUNY Purchase’s arts and culture magazine. This special edition, titled Escaping the Ordinary, celebrates the creative spirit and DIY arts scene that make Purchase unique. I collaborated closely with Editor-in-Chief Sophia Astor throughout the production process. My contributions included designing the magazine’s cover in Photoshop, assisting with photoshoots, and writing my own article. For my piece, I interviewed campus artist Mae Shapiro, exploring how their artwork and sketches transformed a bulletin board in the Arts building into a space for connection, creativity, and conversation.
